The Glenturret Unveils New 2024 Releases

The Glenturret 2024 release lineup

The Glenturret presents 2024 Releases

The Glenturret has presented their 2024 Releases, including eight expressions crafted by Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno. Their new range includes a new, distillery exclusive, 14 Years Old expression.

This year’s Core Release includes:

  • Triple Wood, a mellow, sweet and fruity whisky that is derived from their New Make Spirit;

  • 7 Years Old Peat Smoked,

  • 10 Years Old Peat Smoked

  • and a new 14 Years Old Peat Smoked distillery-only, limited edition of 1800 bottles,

  • plus their 12 Years Old which sits at the heart of our range and our sought after 15 Years Old expression limited to 6000 bottles.

The Glenturret 14 Years Old Peat Smoked has been created from a mix of peat smoked and non-peat smoked spirit. Driven by European Oak first fill maturation, balanced with second fill casks creates a soft, elegant smoky expression with a defining citrus fruit and lemon sponge tasting note. A seam of peat smoked follows later.

The Glenturret 25 and 30, 2024 releases

This year’s Extremely Scarce Range is made up of The Glenturret 25 Years Old, limited to 210 bottles worldwide, and The Glenturret 30 Years Old, limited to just 300 bottles for 2024.

The Glenturret 25 Years Old, is a combination of American and European Oak first and second fill casks, ranging from butts to firkins. A milestone whisky in yearly releases, the 25 Years Old whisky shows our New Make Spirit character in a different guise.

From patience and time, a complex whisky is formed showcasing subtle notes of pineapple, laced with cinnamon and ginger. Vibrant fruitiness, combined with dried fruit and wood spices, lead to a warm finish.

The Glenturret 30 Years Old is made up from a selection of four casks; European Oak, Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez seasoned alongside a Port Pipe. Limited to only 300 bottles this year.

Jennie Baernreuther, Managing Director at The Glenturret  said,

“This year has been momentous for us at The Glenturret, marked by the opening of Aberturret Estate House and the launch of Aberturret Gin this spring. A major highlight, however, is the unveiling of our new 2024 Release. Bob and the team have crafted eight outstanding whiskies, with an exciting new distillery only exclusive 14 Years Old. Each whisky reflects our distillery's core values of provenance, prowess, and passion. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!”

ABOUT The Glenturret:

Since 1763, The Glenturret, Scotland’s Oldest Working Distillery has proudly stood at the heart of Scotland’s rich and fertile whisky country. The distillery has an extraordinary Provenance; generations of dedicated distillers, centuries of characters, exploits and truly remarkable endeavours.

Transitioning from a distillery that previously produced whiskies for blending to a focus on its own single malt whisky production in 2019 under the ownership of Silvio Denz and Hansjorg Wyss has allowed us to showcase new whiskies year on year, relating to our inventory and our consumers quest for new flavour styles.

The journey begins with our New Make Spirit, serving as the foundational element, creating a unifying thread throughout our 2024 Release and imparting distinct characteristics and flavours that define each expression working alongside a varying selection of casks, which will build the future of The Glenturret.
