Compass Box Introduces New Core Collection and Two New Whiskies

The 2024 Compass Box  Collection lineup

Compass Box unveils two new whiskies that will form half of its brand new core collection, Nectarosity and Crimson Casks.

Compass Box’s most well-known whiskies, Orchard House and The Peat Monster will remain as the other two whiskies in the new core collection, with Nectarosity and Crimson Casks completing the range.

Available in the UK from 29th July, Nectarosity is a blended Scotch with a riot of tasting notes that evoke the deliciousness and audacity of high-end patisseries, whilst Crimson Casks blended malt leads with its sherry-influenced richness and an enticing, spicy finish.

NECTAROSITY

Inspired by the deliciousness and audacity of high-end patisserie, Nectarosity blended Scotch takes the brand’s long-held reverence for American oak casks further than ever before. Custom toasted and charred virgin oak from Missouri are sourced and then used twice - first to house grain new make spirit for a year, then malt new make spirit for 6-8 years. With a blend of first-fill bourbon, custom American oak and Palo-Cortado sherry-seasoned casks, Nectarosity delivers a wave of vanilla, honey, coconut and caramel, while the use of fruity malts enhances the juicy richness. The main driving force of the Nectarosity character is two parcels of whisky. The first parcel of whisky from the Girvan Distillery is the grain that encourages the seasoning, driving cinnamon, fudge, and chocolate powder notes. The second is the whisky from the Clynelish Distillery that is put into the seasoned casks, which drives grilled apples, nutmeg, and maple syrup notes. Nectarosity values flavour and indulgence where every ounce of sweetness is treasured.

CRIMSON CASKS

A blended malt with intense wine-derived richness and a spicy finish, Crimson Casks showcases the transformative power of Oloroso sherry casks. Working closely with sherry cask supplier – Jose y Miguel Martín in Jerez, Spain, Compass Box has delivered an intense flavour profile for Crimson Casks. Rich, sweet and spicy, this king of whiskies takes thematic inspiration from the Forest King and can be seen donning the crown of oak. The crown symbolising the transformative influence that wood has over flavour, bringing a magisterial touch to the blending table.

THE PEAT MONSTER

Familiar and perfectly peaty, smoky whisky lovers rejoice with The Peat Monster blended malt, a whisky for those who love rich, smoky-peaty malts. But this is not a scary monster, for there is a balanced sweetness that caresses. This latest version of The Peat Monster incorporates single malts with a more aromatic and graceful style of smokiness with a rich creaminess.

ORCHARD HOUSE

A sanctuary among the fruit trees, the spirit-forward Orchard House blended malt beckons with its crisp red apple and pear notes. A perfect accompaniment to the summer evenings, Orchard House is an award-winning favourite in the core collection and the ultimate “all-rounder”.  Over 85% of the whiskies used in Orchard House have been handled by Compass Box since the new make, making this the truest expression of Compass Box whisky making.

This collection is thoughtfully crafted to take enthusiasts on a sensory journey, navigating the diverse flavour territories of whisky. With two existing fan-favourite blends and two new blends, this core collection provides a whisky for every occasion and a captivating story in every bottle.
