Ardnamurchan’s Much-anticipated AD/ Madeira Cask Batch 2 Released to UK and Global Markets.

Batch two of Ardnamurchan’s much-anticipated AD/ Madeira Cask Release is here. In the days ahead this new bottling will arrive in UK and global retailers, priced at £65.

This much-requested bottling is comprised of malt matured in bourbon casks which were filled in early 2018. A ratio of approximately 60/40 of unpeated to peated spirit was then re-racked into Madeira casks just over two years ago. These casks were vatted just prior to reaching 7 years old and bottled at 52% ABV, yielding just under 19,000 bottles in this batch.

As always, Ardnamurchan whiskies are un-chill filtered and of natural colour.

The tasting notes for this batch are:

Nose

Cocoa powder, stewed plums, sugared almonds, bread and butter pudding, nutmeg, sandalwood, bracken, fruit scone, red currants.

Palate

Cinnamon sweets, cedar bark, salted trail mix with chocolate chips, rosemary stalks, toffee apple, pine needles, strawberries with black pepper.

Finish

Medium weight, dusty, long and slightly drying finish.

With an outturn of almost 19,000, the distillery hopes to reach as many retailers and fans of Ardnamurchan as possible.
